Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Softer when you use softer.video or app.softer.video. We've tried to keep them short and plain.

1. Who we are
Softer is operated by Amine Kammah, a sole trader in the United Kingdom trading as Softer ("Softer", "we", "us"). Softer is not a company. You can reach us at founders@softer.video.
By creating an account or using Softer you agree to these terms. If you use Softer on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you can accept these terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.
2. What Softer does
Softer makes marketing and explainer videos for software products. You describe a video; an AI agent writes the script, generates a voiceover and music, and animates the video. You edit it by conversation and export it as an MP4. You can upload PDFs, decks and images, and Softer reads your public website to build a brand kit (logo, colours, fonts and screenshots).
3. Your account
- You sign in with an email and password or with Google. Keep your sign-in details secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date, so we can reach you about your account and billing.
- You must be at least 18 to use Softer.
4. Plans, billing and cancellation
Softer has a Free plan and paid monthly plans. Current plans and prices are on our pricing page. At the time of writing:
- Free: 1 video and 2 generations, with watermarked exports. We may ask for a card on file to start the Free plan; it isn't charged unless you choose a paid plan.
- Starter: $50 per month for 5 videos.
- Volume: $200 per month for 25 videos.
Paddle is our reseller. Purchases are made through Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record: Paddle is the seller of record, handles tax and invoices, and processes payments and refunds. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase alongside these terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and then does not renew.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
- If we change a plan's price, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Softer to create, upload or publish anything that:
- is unlawful, or promotes something unlawful;
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- is deceptive or misleading, including false claims about a product, a person or a company;
- impersonates a real company or person, or presents a video as coming from a company you aren't authorised to represent;
- uses another party's trademarks, logos or brand assets without the right to do so.
You also agree not to interfere with the service, try to get around plan limits or security, access other users' data, or use Softer to build a competing product by scraping or reverse-engineering it.
Fair use. Plans include a set number of videos, and paid plans include unlimited edits within a video, for normal use by a person or team making their own videos. We may set reasonable limits to keep the service working for everyone, and will contact you first if your use looks out of the ordinary.
6. Your content and your videos
- You own your inputs: briefs, messages, uploaded files and your brand materials.
- You own the videos you export, as long as you've paid for the plan you made them on, and subject to any third-party rights in material you supplied (for example logos or screenshots of other products).
- You give us a limited licence to store, copy and process your inputs and videos only as needed to provide, secure and support Softer for you.
- You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, and to the website you ask Softer to read for your brand kit.
Softer's software, design, templates and animations remain ours. Videos exported on the Free plan carry a Softer watermark; don't remove or obscure it.
7. AI output
Scripts, voiceovers, music and animations are generated with AI and can contain mistakes: wrong facts, wrong numbers, odd pronunciations or claims your product can't back up. You are responsible for reviewing every video before you publish or use it, and for making sure it's accurate and lawful where you use it. Similar prompts can produce similar output for other users, so we can't promise that generated material is unique.
8. Third-party services
Softer relies on other providers, such as Clerk for sign-in, Paddle for payments, and AI providers for scripts, voice and music. How we share data with them is described in our privacy policy.
9. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using Softer and ask us to delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other users at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
10. The service is provided "as is"
We work to keep Softer reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims relating to Softer is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, you also have legal rights these terms don't affect.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Softer changes. For material changes we'll give you notice by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Softer after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel before they do.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also bring proceedings where you live and keep the protections of your local law.
